Something Only God Can Do

The first verse of the Bible is one of the most revealing about our Creator-God. We read, “In the beginning God created the heavens and the earth.” This is the kick-off verse of scripture. Although this verse talks about the beginning, it is a very comprehensive statement about God. He is eternal. He created time and is not anchored to it as we are. He has always been and always will be. That means he is here and now. With you. Available to you. Interested in you. Loving you.
Pursuing you.
Yes, God is a self-revealing God and that self-revelation is part of his pursuit of you. His universe is truly a dance floor that he built and he invites you to the dance. With him. As he reveals himself to you, he desires a response from you in a personal relationship.
There is a powerful truth in that, but one word often overlooked in this first verse is the Hebrew word bara which translates into create. Essentially it means something only God can do.
Like creating the universe.
If God is so awesome as to be able to bring everything into existence on the power of his Word, something only he can do, then think about the ramifications of that in your personal life as it is manifested in your daily walk with him.
If you desire his will in your life, then you are desiring to live a life that only God can do through you, one only he can make possible, and he makes it possible for you to live out that life as you respond to him.
If you respond to him at every point, then it is literally possible to live your life in such a way that only God could make that life possible! Your life! How wonderful is that?
Make it your mission in life to do exactly that―to live out your life totally consumed in his will, walking every hour, every second in constant, wondrous obedience and communion with him, responding to your Creator-God in everything you do.
What a legacy!

We can come to know Christ through confession of our sins and repentance (turning away from sin). Let me encourage you to do this by talking to God through prayer. Here is an idea of how you might do that:
"Dear God, I believe your son Jesus Christ died in my place on the cross and rose from the dead on the third day following his death. I confess my sins, all of them, to you now with a humble heart. I repent of those sins and ask you to empower me with your Holy Spirit in overcoming further sin. Amen”
If you prayed this or a similar prayer committing your life to Christ and becoming one of his followers, let me encourage you to find a good, Bible-believing church. If you live in the Weslaco/Rio Grand Valley area of Texas, let me invite you to the church I attend, Mid-Valley Assembly (www.midvalleyassembly.com).
Begin talking to God in prayer and reading the Bible daily. A good way to begin to read the Bible is to start with the Book of John in the New Testament.
Feel very free in connecting with me if you need any further help in your walk with the Lord Jesus Christ. You can do this via the above email or facebook page or this web page.
